A little clay, home treasures and creativity go a long way!

Everyday that I come home from work, I am amazed by what my nephew has created the night before. There’s always something! As of late, he has been a bit obsessed with the Nightmare Before Christmas movie and we’ve seen Jack Skellington in every shape possible I think. His latest creation is a nightlight.

Braeden loves finding and using objects from around the house. For this project, he used some flameless tea light candles that he found. He took them apart and saw that the light still worked and came equipped with an on and off switch.

Surrounding the base of the light with his air dry clay, Braeden found that with the holes poked for the eyes, he could make a “perfect” light up Jack and so his creative juices began to flow! This morning he asked to create a video and upload to youtube so that other kids could create night lights too. Below is his video, which he edited by himself. He is now working on an entire line of night lights to sell at his mother’s store.
