SMARTboard Quick Tip: 3d Tools and a Coke Can

We’ve discovered 3d tools in my classroom and to say that we LOVE them is an understatement of magnanimous proportions.

During “down” time, students have thoroughly enjoyed touring ancient greek colliseums and even known landmarks around the US.

In class we have an activity where the students take a can of juice and physically calculate various measurements. Until now, we have had to rely on a document camera to aid in demonstration. Now, students can use the SMARTboard to calculate the various measurements by rotating the can around and using the measurement tools.

Using 3d tools, students can interact with objects in a way that is relevant to the way that they normally interact with objects and it’s such a cool feature to use.
