About a year or so ago, I heard about edcamps and wanted to go so bad. Unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts with another conference, I was unable to attend. Once I caught wind of Padcamp, I knew that I wanted to be involved. In case you are unaware of what padcamp is, here is the spiel from padcamp.org:
“PadCamp is a free unconference. Unlike traditional conferences, there are no keynotes, there is no commercial content, and the conference schedule is not determined in advance – it is created on the day of the event by the attendees. It is a powerful model that is literally sweeping the nation!”
PadCamp Dallas stemmed from an idea from other padcamps and blossomed into the event that it will be March 24, 2012 in Lewisville, Texas. With the leadership of Jaime Vandergrift and Venita Jones, details progressed and in the midst of all details, sponsors began to kick in. I am writing this post as more of a special “shout out” and thanks to all of our sponsors, some of which I have had the pleasure of hearing about through putting this posting together. If you would like to be a sponsor for PadcampDallas, there is still time. We would LOVE to be able to have some type of handheld tech giveaway, which we do not yet have.
If you would like to help out, please contact Jaime or Venita at the email addresses below.
